Coconut Oil for Pets!

We are sure that you are aware of the tremendous benefits of using coconut oil as a beauty treatment. It is the perfect product to give your locks the nourishment they need to shine in all their glory and the key to a hydrated, shimmering skin.

Knowing that coconut has many beneficial properties, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that our coconut oil can also be the perfect complement for your beloved pet.
From your traditional pet like dogs and cats to bigger animals, for example, horses, there are diverse ways coconut oil can help improve your pet’s life.

Shiny Fur

Our coconut oil will have the same effect that the one you can observe in your own hair. No more trying to detangle knots after a day playing at the park with your dog! The hair will be as smooth and shiny as yours.

Dogs are fond of making messes and rolling in mud and the coconut oil will work too as a deodorant. Your doggy will give off such a sweet, pleasant scent that you are going to find yourself wanting to cuddle with it all day long.

Digestive Issues

If you know your pet has difficult digestions, we have a natural solution to make the process smoother.

Our advice is that you give it a spoonful of Maya Gold Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil with its food. This is specially recommended for cats, as you may know they tend to have an issue with hairballs. It will definitely improve your pet’s health.

How to Actually Use Coconut Oil On Pets

Pets, specially dogs, are very fond of tasty food. Once they try the sweet flavour of the Coconut oil, they would not want to give up their newfound favourite treat! We’ve tried with our own dogs and of course they’re just as nutty for coconut as we are at Maya Gold Organic!

To actually use it, we advise you to mix a little bit of oil with their food.
For dogs we recommend a balance of a teaspoon of coconut oil for every 10 pounds of weight. It’s better starting off with around 1/4 of that and to keep increasing the quantity over a few weeks, just to avoid upseting their stomachs because of introducing a new product they are not used too.

For adult cats, we suggest 1/2 a teaspoon to start off and increasing the dose around 1-2 teaspoons in a few weeks.
Considering adorable kittens, you can try starting with¼ teaspoon and build it up to a whole teaspoon, make sure you do it over time.
We know of people giving our coconut oil to all kind of animals, even farm animals such as goats.

If your animal loves Maya Gold Organic as much as us, then be sure to get in touch and send us a picture!
